Whose data desk this is

The Ville Resort-Casino, Sir Leslie Thiess Drive, Townsville City QLD 4810, decides how personal information gathered on wyrmstrike.com is used. Reach the desk at privacy@wyrmstrike.com. Our handling follows the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) together with the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles.

Items arriving with each visit

  • Connection data that any browser hands over: your IP address, its user agent (the label telling a server what software and device are knocking), the pages opened and the page that linked here.
  • Rough location, guessed from the IP address down to country or town. Precise location is never requested.
  • Form data: if you use the contact page, the name, address, topic and message travel to us as an ordinary email that you send yourself.
  • Your cookie answer, saved in this browser's local storage.

Uses we put them to

  • Analytics, once you allow it: totals showing which parts of the review are useful.
  • Marketing and referral credit, once you allow it: partners learn that a reservation began from our link, and we learn whether the page finds travellers who want a Townsville stay.
  • Answering mail and keeping a trail of corrections and requests.
  • Keeping the site up and noticing abuse.

Partners who may see it

When you have agreed, affiliate and referral networks receive a click reference, the time and the page that sent you. Web hosts and measurement vendors handle data on our instructions under written agreements. A few of them run servers overseas; in that case we take reasonable steps so the information gets protection in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Nobody buys personal information from us.

Retention periods

Correspondence: up to two years after the last reply. Measurement totals: up to twenty-six months. Your cookie answer: twelve months, after which the bar returns and asks once more.

Australian rights and the OAIC

Write in whenever you like to see the details on file about you, or to have them corrected; expect our answer inside thirty days. Still dissatisfied after that? Lodge a complaint with the OAIC, the federal privacy regulator (the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner), through its website, oaic.gov.au.

EU and UK readers: GDPR

If the GDPR protects you, you can see, fix or wipe your data; narrow or object to how it is handled; carry it to another service in a portable file; and take back consent at will, with anything done beforehand staying lawful. Analytics and advertising cookies run on consent. Mail replies and site security rely on our legitimate interests. Your national data protection regulator also accepts complaints.

California readers: CCPA/CPRA

Californians are entitled to an itemised account of which personal details are collected and why, to erase or amend them, and to stop any “sale” or “sharing” aimed at advertising that follows them around other websites. Browsers that emit Global Privacy Control have made that stop request for you, in our book, keeping advertising cookies dark. Using these rights costs you nothing and earns you no worse treatment.

Under-18s

Our readership is adult, 18 and over, and we make no effort to collect details from children. Should you learn that someone younger has emailed the desk, let us know so that the email can be erased.
